will these slicks fit under a foxbody
I have a chance to get some slicks & rims at a good price but I want to find out for sure if a 28x9x15 slick will fit under a stock foxbody.
Since an '82GT doesn't have quad shocks then I should more room under there.

I think they will fit but make sure that your wheels are the right offset. I ran 295/50/15's there about 28 or 29 inch's tall and ran them on 15+8 inch wheels and they rubbed the outside finder well all I did was roll it under so it would not cut the tires.

I've got 26x10.5 M/T Et streets on 15x8 inch welds 5.5 backspacing no problems other than having to remove the quad shocks. But you don't have that problem to face.

I have 28X11.5 M/T ET Streets on my car WITH the quad shocks attatched. Looks like a funny car, but they fit. Watch the turns on the freeway is all.

Those would be 15X8 Weld Pro Star's with 5.5" backspacing. All measurements are 100% except the 8" rim, which is an educated guess with a tape measure with tire installed.
I NEVER would have thought they'd fit, but last year I was running 275/60R15 when a buddy had these on his S-10. He blew the motor the week before, and we were heading to the track with my car for Whoop Ass Wednesday. Figured what do we have to loose, and we tried it. I'm tellin' ya, it looks like a funny car, but they fit! My fender lips are rolled a bit, but nothing drastic, and they do roll into the inner fenders if I dive into a corner on the freeway too hard. It's to the point where you really have to pay attention on the freeway, but wow do they look cool at the strip!

Kinda crappy pics I just took with my phone, and she's up on the stands right now, but just so you know I'm not yanking your chain:

Hey, I know you ain't yankin my chain. I am hoping to fit some 28x10.5's under my 89gt. The quads are there for now. If they have to come out, they will.

What's the widest slick I can fit on a stock 7 inch rim?
I was hoping I could get a set of 26x9x15 on a pair of 10 hole rims.

You should be OK there, as a general rule 3" over rim width is acceptable, but not always the easiest to fit on the rim.

Like I said, the 3" thing is a "general" rule. It' might be a bit@h, but if you can get them on your rims, and they hook....... well, you do the math bro.

I had a set of 26x10 ET Drags on a set of 10-holes, they hooked fine, but as the aged you could see they were wearing more in the center.
But back to the subject at hand, yes those 28x9's will fit with ease. I've got a buddy with 28x13.5 ET Streets on his 90 GT. They just required a rolling the fender lips and "adjusting" the inner wheel well with a 15lb sledge hammer. -Josh, aka the tireburner
