Default valve floating with e7te's

can the stock e7's run higher rpm's without pulling out one of the rocker mounts? I think I am going to run the stock cam in a 92 block for now, but I am not sure if I need to update the springs from stock and/or have the heads machined for sutd roller rockers.

the only reason this is an issue, is because this motor needs to still pull good aroun 6-7000 rpm range. The 4.10 gears have it revving hard across the quarter. Any help you guys can give is greatly appreciated. I have been told the stock cam will be fine with the 92 ho motor...ported e7te's, but am unsure about the valvetrain.

If you are revving past 5500 with the stock cam and heads you are way out of your powerband.

My set up only pulls to 6000rpm's

If you get the heads ported and replace the weak valve springs and get a cam you may get there.

For what you are wanting to do I would just go with some good aluminum heads. You can find good deals if you look around. I found mine for 600 bux.

trying to see how much I can get out of it with Ford stock heads first, then moving up to the aluminum. Plus, I need the experience of porting the heads anyhow.
thanks,
Ryan

Even with ported heads, you'll still make max power at like 5500rpm

I personally wouldn't rev a stock bottom end to 7K and from what I've heard you don't need to rev hydrolic roller lifters over 6500.
