Post Could a poorly adjusted clutch cause this?

When I go to engage first it grinds a little going in. the same goes for the rest of my shifts. This t-5 has just been rebuilt and I put it in a it was doing this right off the bat. I called the guy who did the rebuild and he said "sounds like your cluth needs adjusting" is this true or did he screw me on the rebuild. Thanks for the help

yes, it can - mine did this (especially in third) and tightening the clutch cable cleared it right up. Mine sits all winter, and it seems like it always streches when it sits.

Question

Technically yes, it could be your clutch not disengauging fully. How old is the clutch, what adjuster is being used, and if the clutch is more than a year old, why didn't you replace it when you had the tranny off?

I would say the guy probably screwed the rebuilt BTW.

Just for fun, check your fluid level. But it does sound like your clutch adjustment...did you try doing the self adjusting thing on it. You know push the pedal in and pick it up with your toes like three times.

Mine is poorly adjusted, i say this because it disengages close to the floor, the self adjuster only works for a couple shifts, then gets out of adjustment again, i was told the adjustable quadrant is the answer, but i really dont have the time to be pulling out the dash righnow, is there anything i can do? maybe have a new cable installed?
