Default rear ends

I'm putting in a 302 in a mustang that had a 4 blurb in it and I need a new rear end. I was wondering what years a mustangs between '79 and '93 have a 8.8" rear that I could put on my '79. I'll be looking for one in a junk yard.

1986-1993 5.0L cars all had the 8.8" rear end.

Wait a minute. If you're going to upgrade the rear end why not go with one out of the Turbo Coupe? They have disc brakes. What years was that that had one that is a direct fit?

It is like 3/4" wider on each side, but that's only going to make the car look meaner I think.

Here's a good link with lots of helpful info...

Check out section #8.
