Default How do I replace my speedo cable

I want to replace my cable because it's been severly burned by my header. I have 3.73 gears and I thought there was a gear I had to install into the speedo that allows the speedo to compensate for the gears. I know about the gear that goes in the tranny, but I thought there was another one. Also, what exactly do I have to do to pull my old cable out of the dash board and to install the new one. Thanks, Keith.
