Which mufflers are better?
I am looking to put dual-exhaust on my '96 v6. I have considered buying a package deal from Borla for $660. However, my dad had showed me some cherry bomb mufflers. Yet, I have read profiles of cars and some are using Flowmaster. Which to me looks like it is a very restricting muffler. I don't really care how loud the sound is, I would just like to know which mufflers are the best and why. Thanks

On a v6 Borla is not worth it too expensive and not much gain if any over Dynomax, Flowmaster, Steeda, or MAC. I have Flowmasters and they sound great and are not restive at all. DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT put cherry bombs on a mustang. You will get booed of this site. Those are made for Chevy trucks in the 70's not mustangs. Also on a v6 if you get bigger than 2.5" pipes you will lose HP. You want enough back pressure to support the engine. I recommed going with Dynomax, Flowmaster, Steeda, or MAC becase they are cheaper and give you the same quality and same HP as Borla.

I have herd that strait thru free flow mufflers sound really good on V6 stangs, they are a little bit pricey i think, but from what i have seen they look like they would add more HP and sound good.
