ok, i've had my 99 cobra for 7900 miles now, and today, crusin at about 75 mph, 5th gear...i hear a pop. Next stop light my engine is idling low, knocking some, and doesn't like to move at all. When i pull over i discover a crack in my valve covers, oil all over the place and a car that doesn't like to move anywhere. Needles to say it was toed off. I believe that any car that breakes down before 8000 miles must have serious issues. I don't know, is this a major engine problem or is it going to be ok? at the moment i'm pretty pissed at the ford motor company. I'm just glad to have a warrenty and not have done to many mods yet.

Sorry to hear about that man I had the same type of problems with a 96 firebird that I used to have. It really sucks to pay that payment every month for a new car that breaks thats how I felt. Hopefully your dealer will get your car back to you as soon as possible.

Sorry to hear that. Good thing you're under warrenty. There are no common problems with the Cobra motor, and that is the first time I've heard of that type of problem.

well...it's at the dealership now, i'm more upset at the whole deal than angry now. The day it happned i was wishing i had an SS. But the more i look at the car the more in love i am. I love mustangs...oh well...life sucks right?
