Electric Fan

Has anybody installed a Ford Tarus electric fan in a fox body mustang???? I bought a new one off ebay but I want a second opinion. The money really does not matter at this point because I am just having fun!!!:o

I have not done this, but remember a real long post on this same question on "The Corral" and 90% of the replies were indicating that it was not enough, out of curiousity, why are you going with an electric fan with so few mod's, no flames dude, just wondering?

My longterm goals are to go all out with this car. I want it to be just a straight up horsepower-straight line car. The fan is just a part of a very long list of parts to get!!!

Okay, then I would suggest making a list of what it takes to get you where you want to be, then buy the parts once to get you there. An electric fan is one of the last things you need, rethink, and start with a strong shortblock and go from there.

I am going to purchase a DSS Longblock 331 in about two months as soon as my bonus money hits the bank. My buddy has one in his 94Gt and I am very impressed with 11.49 on just engine at the track. His car is heavy as hell, that is why I just got a $500.00 4cylinder coupe and just did the conversion. I had a Gt parts car and it all just came together. I am also getting a 5spd tremec at the same time!!! I plan to get a tublar K member also. I will do my full suspension then add the drivetrain.

An electric fan is a good mod. Even as a first mod. I'd go with the Perma cool fan out of summit, a bit pricey at $199.99 but it'll keep you cool. In my truck I'm running a 383 with a little bit over 500hp, with a dual electric fan set-up, and it never once gets hot, even sitting in traffic.

Nope, I like Fords too. Just sold my 89 GT. :( I miss it already. They are close to the 86 style, I believe.
