Smog Removal on 83' Mustang

Hi, I was wondering if you can remove the smog pump and air injector rails etc., from the Mustang without harming it at all? I did see the Smog pump Eliminator. I noticed how tight it is in due to all of the smog gear in that area. I also noticed a lot of vacuum lines connected. Will removing these harm anything? Do I need to buy a new ex. manifold or are there plugs for the air injectors? My main goal is not HP gain but to make more room in my engine compartment with less clutter? I would probably need test pipes so I don't clog up the cats too. Thanks.

First off if you have cats you better have a smog pump or they "will" clogg up on you rather quickly.

Too remove it just unbolt it and remove it and all of its components. Then run a short belt.

I have eliminated the a/c, power steering and smog pump and the engine compartment looks alot cleaner.

Good luck,

Thanks for the info. Do I need to plug the vacuum lines? Also do they make test pipes? I don't have smog testing where I live.
