my first (stock) dyno results... pretty cool !!

fully stock engine 94 (cept for pulleys) did the following on a dynojet..

185.8 hp peak @ 4200
180 hp from 3800 rpm - 4800 rpm

259.2 torque peak @ 3200
250 torque from 2500 - 3800 rpm

I have a feeling this is a nice # for a stock 94 5.0, any opinions???

thanks !!

PS: NOW, what's the next step !? I'm hooked!!

oh, forgot (its a monday) is this basically 215 hp and 285 torque at the crank, was having an friendly bet with a friend...
(I have the t-5 tranny if it matters)

what is the % loss for hp and torque for most cars?

thanks

Hey, where did you get it dynod.
Pretty good numbers, you can expect 12-15% loss on a manual and over 20% with a auto.
Add some exhaust and mass air upgrade and you will see 210 at the wheels.

If the dyno is accurate, you're making about 224hp at the flywheel.

The T-5 driveline will cost you about 17% of power to the wheels.

Jani!

I didn't know you hit a dyno! Where at??

Those are pretty decent numbers. Wait till the exhaust MUHAHAHAHA! join the club www.gtamc.com

Hyper92GT: What you saying man??

jetuomi 10-23-2001 07:03 AM

hyper, I got it done at place that my friend has connections at, DPE racing, over by steeles and 400... but I think otherwise J+P will do dyno too.. drop me an email, jetuomi@yahoo.com and we should go for a cruise !!

chris, I did join the club !!

and UNIT, thanks for the 17% number, I wasn't too sure what it was exactly, and now I know ! http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/smile.gif

I am saying:
Full exhaust, I would not imply mufflers are worth more than 7-10hp at the wheels. I've seen plenty of guys though with stock motors and with headers, mufflers(flows) and just mass air pumping out 200-210 at the wheels.

hey, that is around 310 torque isn't it? wow.. guess those pulleys, lightened flywheel, AL driveshaft, timing, msd coil and 92 octane gas do add up somewhere...

or is the 285 stock just underrated??
(For some reason I'm really pumped now, this dyno has really made me excited to start moddin' this baby!!!)

But I'm sure you've all gone thru this stage (and are still in it!)

Those are very good numbers for a stock 5.0.

I added Full MAC exhaust (1 5/8" equal shorties and prochamber with Flowpaths), 65mm TB, 73 MM C&L, Kirban AFPR, 1.7RR, MAC underdrives, advanced timing and 180°thermo got me 225 RWHP @ 4800 RPM and 283 ft*lb of torgue. That is with a T-5, aluminum driveshaft and 2.73 gears at the time.
