Fuel and Vaccuum Gauge Mounting
 
I just ordered a set of autometer gauges for my '95 GT. I will be mounting them in place of the stock clock with a saleen dash pod. They will be a boost/vaccuum gauge and an electric fuel pressure gauge. What is the best way to run the neccessary lines/wires to the engine compartment? I don't want to screw up here. Any experienced help would be appreciated.

I have 6 aftermarket gauges in my car. As far as running wires through the firewall goes, you basically have 2 choices. First is to drill a new hole after checking clearance in car and in engine compartment. After you drill, put a good quality rubber grommet in to protect the wires from rubbing against the metal you just drilled through. Be sure to get a good one with some thickness to it, as I have found they are not all created equal. Your second option is to run the wires through with a group that is already there from the factory, either through the same hole or through a hole alongside you make in the rubber boot protecting the wires. I drilled a new hole and set it up properly for the multitude of wires that now pass through the wall. It is best to decide how many gauges you are thinking about adding in the future and plan for them now. The same goes for your power wires for electric gauges and lighting wires. The more you plan ahead, the less teardown of your interior will be needed to mount the new gauge.

Well, I got my gauges mounted and connected except for one thing. The Autometer vaccuum gauge did not come with a t-fitting to splice into the stock line. Guess it'll mean a run to the parts store tomorrow. By the way, what is the stock fuel pressure on a '95 GT? Thanks for the suggestions guys.
