the swap is easy and will help alot but there are some downfalls to it. for one performance automatic sells the whole kit with everything you need but its around 1000$ ( dont have exact price handy). my dynamic cost me 1450$ but you dont have to get one like that. i never heard of shortening the driveshaft for a c-4 conversion and i do them all the time.
the other peoblem is with 4.30 gears you will rev too high and will not be practical for street use. you will clear the quarter around 6400 rpm which is too high for a fairly stock fuel injected car . if these are not a problem for you then go with it. the right setup will only make you go faster and be more consistent.
