We've got to run stock Ford/OEM lifters in S/W, and the guys in Renegade do as well. I routinely shift around 6000 and cross the traps at 6500. The S/R guys are revving up to 7000 and beyond and so are the S/W guys with carbs. The lifter will handle the higher revs, but you've got to pay more attention to the weight of your valve train components and to your valve springs.
