I don't like the kenne bell stuff. I hear they are the most fun to drive, but they don't offer the same perf benefits.
The benefit of the "insta-boost" (aka roots-type or twin-screw) is that it drives like a big-block engine. If you go with a centrifugal supercharger, like the vortech, the power it makes increases as RPMs rise, making the biggest difference in HP gains and 1/4 mile slips.
If you are looking for the biggest PERF gain out of this mod, go with the vortech or equivalent type. I like vortech because they have a great reputation for not f'ing stuff up (reliable) and they are cheap for the 5.0s.
Just depends what you are looking for.
