They have a "chip" that piggy-backs on your EEC. You connect it to your laptop/computer and edit the stock binary codes yourself. If you do a dramatic swap on your car, you can "reburn" the chip yourself without paying someone big bucks to do it. It's a little pricey, but worth the money. I like mine
