I have had my KYB's front and rear for 5 years with Ford C springs for the same amount of time. They didn't seem to work much better than stock for only 1 year of 5000 miles in that year. They still work, but are soggy. I just put on a tubular K member/arm/coilover setup and found my struts were beat. I went with Tokico front struts-Illumina's. 5 way adjustable and for less than $150 each.
I haven't tried them yet, but have heard great things and they adjust in and out movement and are cheaper than the Koni counterparts.

They have the non adjustable ones too. I think I may go with the adjustable rear shocks to complement the fronts when I get the car roadworthy and like the fronts.
You could get adj. fronts and premiums out back and spend only a little more than the non adj. ones...
