I haven't considered a 9" rearend because I think it's overkill in my particular case. The car will probably never see any more than 650 hp at the rear wheels at the absolute extreme. I've heard the 8.8 built right is capable of handling up to around 1000 hp (is this correct?) so why throw a 9" in which zaps more horsepower? Besides...I don't have $2000 to throw into a rearend. $1000-1200 would be the highest I could go

Mostly, I want to know how the different differentials operate. For instance, I know that a spool turns both wheels at the same speed at all times. I guess mostly what I want to know is how the other levels of the differentials operate (mechanically) and what experiences people have had with them. Thanks.
