82GT is right on both accounts in my opinion. The high volume oil pump is really not needed. Think of it this way, how many 5.0's can u think of that have had gobbs of miles put on them, been ran into the dirt, and the whole time did it with a stocker oil pump? I put a stock one in mine and it has great oil pressure.
Get a new oil pump shaft, but get a new hardened one. Still very cheap and insurance that is worth the few bucks.
