You have 215hp stock, and are most likely running 14.9-15.2 in the 1/4 mile. Your SS would smoke this car, but you can do a LOT to the motor to help out. First, you should put some sort of catback/x-pipe combo on, and at the same time, a K&N air filter. Next, the intake you have on that thing is a TICKING TIMB BOMB...it will explode. The 96-97 intakes are plastic, and are weak, and will eventually crack and cause a huge hassle. Therefore, I'd say to save up and do the 99+ Head, intake, cam swap, in which you get the heads, intake and cam from a 99+ GT, and put them in your engine. You will get better performance by a mile, and you'll take care of the intake problem before it occurs. When those parts go on, put some underdrive pulleys in, and for the rear end, maybe a steeper gear, like 3.73. With all that, you should be good to go, power wise. Good luck, and keep us posted.
