![]() whats the best rpm to launch at (~1600-1900) ? When is it best to change gears.. as in what rpm? Also, do stock 5.0's come with posi?

![]() From what I have heard the 5.0's have a traction lok differential. This means that when one wheel begins spinning the other wheel will begin to move. It isnt a direct posi. I usually launch at like 2000 on the street and it goes but i ahve never been to a track before so I dunno if it is different.

Anyways...I used to shift mine stock at ~5100 rpm but as previously mentioned there are variances in each car. As for the launch, higher revs (2000-2500) while riding the clutch works well, but will drastically shorten the life of your clutch. Best thing to do is to make a trip to the track and try different methods to suit your driving style/car. |

![]() thnks for the tip on the tires though, and i'd probably b doing more street then track. I think the closest track is like at least an hour away...prob 3hrs..

![]() K how about with my combo listed blow with my 3.73 gears
I cant hook at all THe guy before me had et streets on it and it hooked alto better but i dont know if i need wider rims or what? I have an air bag and adjustable shocks but i cant get any traction with eh biggest firestone tires i can find that are as sticky as i can get before running near slicks. THey are on the pony rims Also How much help would movin my battery to rear really help? SHould I just throw some weight in the back so i dont spin for forever its horrible peopel wiht alot less power can beat me because i jsut sit there and i cant really ride the clutch in as with i go to second anyway aif i floor it it jsut spins ALl suggestions would be helpful
