Default How can I tell if a part will pass emmisions?

Because California has such strict emmision laws I know there are a lot of parts I can't use. I was wondering if there is any way of knowing whether the part can be used in a combo, and still pass smog. I know there is a CARB number (California Air Resource Board) or something like that that is on a part, but some don't have CARB numbers on them. There's a thread going that asks if GT40P's will pass Cali's emmision test. Instead of asking about each head, intake, cam, headers, is there some website or somewhere I could research this? Thanks, Keith
