Default Wrench In The Oil Pan

wE accidently dropped an wrench in the oil pan ( we took the timing chain cover off and the oil pan was exposed and we happen to drop it in ) i was wondering if we could leave it in and it run ok or will it mess up anything?
its a original oil pan


also i took my intake off and the block said

302 wcp2 << whats that mean
i thought it was a 289 but does this mean its a 302 ?
the heads where the rockers r say 289 on them ?

if yall can help out thx
