Default Removing threads altogether

Seems I've had this problem before. When I go back to re-read a thread to see if maybe I misjudged it...............guess what, it's not there.

I certainly can understand that a thread may need to be locked with no further input. It does piss me off though if it disappears altogether. Why Dan, do you see the need for that. Are we deemed too stupid to see the thread for what it is? Sometimes I wonder about you and your editorial policies?
