Default Removing A/C

I am thinking about removing the A/C from my mustang and getting the eliminator bracket from Summit. It doesnt blow cold air and I dont think I would ever use it anyhow. What all do I need to do? There is a canister that the A/C lines run to that is near the fire wall on the passenger side. Can this be removed also? I know the A/C is not charged but do I need to take it somewhere before removing because of the freon?(have no clue if thats how its spelled) Any info would be great. Thanks! Does doing this help with any hp?
