![]() are mustang E7TE heads the same as truck E7TE truck heads? Heard that these were a cheap trick to bump compression on my 82 from 8.4:1 to 9:1.
Anybody have any cheap ones? Thanks ------------------ 1982 Mustang GT |

![]() They are the same heads. I don't know how much it will change compression though. Check the classifieds here and check Jeff Chambers' website. I am pretty sure I saw some there for sale.

![]() A factory 82 5.0 didn't come with E7's. I beleave that 87 was the first for them.

![]() CobraR - I know that they weren't on 82's that would explain why I am looking for them.
I'm pretty sure 82's are not flat-tops, that was 86 only. ------------------ 1982 Mustang GT |

![]() you can also mill your E7's to achieve a higher compression.

![]() Matt Cook - are you sure that the 82 pistons aren't flat topped? I thought that anything pre 87 did not have valve reliefs. Not sure, but it would make sense to me.

![]() I really don't know, never pulled it down, but it seems like the mags only talk about the 86's as being problematic?
