![]() Hi. I am looking for a throttle cable, or accelerator cable? for my 73 mach 1 w/FMX trans. It just snapped and I have had no luck at the local shops in town, or National Parts, Greens, etc. What the heck, are these things this rare? Any other vehicles use the same cable? I was told that the same one goes on 71 72 and 73? My engine is a 351 Cleveland, originally with a 2V carb now has a Holley 4V on it. I live south of Detroit and would love any info or advice on this subject. thanks-Jim

![]() As for them being all the same, the Ford parts book list all different one for 71-72 by production dates. For 1973 they list one for 2v carb and one for 4v carb. The part number for the 2v cable is D3ZZ9A758B and the 4v is D3ZZ9A758C. Go to www.partsvoice.com and chose ford and enter part numbers. I checked and they are both available but I don't know which one you want. RAY THE PARTS MGR.

![]() Thanks for your reply Ray, I truly appreciate it! I was able to find a used one in good condition from a friend in Sandusky Ohio. It arrived today and looks like it will work, once I change my gas pedal! This one has a different conection to the pedal than my original one. I talked to my friend, who is mailing the other pedal assembly (that matches this cable)out tomorrow. I figured it would be easier to locate the pedal that matches my cable, rather than search for another cable. I'll have about $35 into this, which after rebuilding my 351 and FMX sounds cheap! Jim in Michigan, with a 73 Mach 1 still in the darn garage, but getting closer! Any day now...
