Default 351 vs. 302

I have an 89' GT that I love. I was thinking of building another car to just toy with on the streets and take to the track. Are there any huge advantages to using a 351??? My 302 works great and I run very well with it, but I am looking for some more power. Is the 351 W a bad-*** engine?? I hardly ever hear of fox body Mustangs with 351's (except for the 93' Cobra R), why is that?? Are the parts too expensive, are they not as reliable, too heavy, not enough power?? Please give me your thoughts.
