I'm looking for the lightweight one that evreyone seems to think came on the 92+ mustangs and is also the one that motorsport sells.

Starters for 87-93 were all the same, if you're looking for something with more power, you can search around for a lightweight-high torque starter, and pay about 100-120... if you dont care about the weight, i would say get a remanufactured one for 40 bucks... and a monkey could put one in, so dont worry about taking it to a mechanic.

Banging gears is right.

If you take it to a mechanic you may just be taking it to that monkey to have it put on.
