Question x pipe installed - now smoking

I just finished installing a bbk o/r x pipe on my 94 mustang gt. I started it up and let it run for a little and smoke started coming out of the tailpipes. Is it just burning off something from the new x pipe or is there something else wrong? It didn't smoke at all before. I'm guessing it is the anti-seize compound on the o2 sensors? The smoke has a different smell than oil.

I can't say for certain without being there in person, but let me say this; After more than 20 years of wrenching, one of the many truths I have learned is that vehicles will often emit unusual smoke and or scents after installing new parts, especially in the exhaust. Whether it's a coating that has to burn off, or just grease from your hands that got on the pipes, it should go away after a day. If it doesn't show any signs of getting better after a day or two of normal driving, then you need to start checking things, like the oil for water, the water for oil, pressure test the cooling system, check the cylinder compression, KOEO & KOER self tests, etc.

More than likely, the problem will be gone after an hour or so of driving.

Take care,
-Chris

I had the same problem with my h-pipe, it went away after a hard drive for a couple hours, probably just burning off the coating. :D
