putting a 302 in a 1978 RX-7
I've got a 1978 Mazda RX-7 and I want to put a 302 and AOD out of a Lincon I have in it. I want to use this car for bracket races(and at the local cruise spot every now and then. nod, nod, wink, wink). The whole car dosen't weigh but 2300 pounds, so lets to the math. Light @ss car + 250 HP = fast as hell! Does anybody know of anybody who has already done this. My dad is a metal worker so I'm not worryied about motor mounts and actually making the darn thing fit. My main concern is the front end siting on the ground due the additional weight of the V-8. Can anyone out there help me.

Wish I could remeber the site where they do just such a conversion. I was looking for kits to put a 302 in a miata. The best part about the site was a the latest gen RX-7 getting a 5.0 mill! Try doing a search on mazda v-8 conversion
