Default NOS 75 shot on a stock 5.0

i have a chance to get a 75 shot of NOS for my stock 91 gt with an AOD tranny. My car has 72,000 miles on it. How hard will the nitros be on my motor and what possible damage could be done? just wanna check some of your opions before i go through with this. alot of friends are saying i'll blow myself up and all this other stuff. thanks for the help

Anything that adds power to your car will cause it to wear out faster. But proper tuning will help you get the best life out of it. If the nitrous isnt set up right it wont last long but if it is you should have a long time of fun to go. But engines are like a bar of soap, the harder you rub it, the quicker it wears out. But i hope it works out good, that way you can have fun blowing away some competition.

Go for it, 75shot aint much at all.

Tune it right and you will be fine.

Get a 190 or 255 fuel pump too.

What tunning should i do to get my engine running good for the nitros? Just put in colder spark plugs and turn the timing down? is there anything else i should do or could do to take preventive measures? and by setting it up properly what does that mean? thanks again

for a 75 shot a 190 is plenty of fuel and a adj. fuel press. reg. is strongly recommended for proper tuning. as far as plugs, a step colder if youre really nervous but for a 75 you dont need to change the plugs unless there platinum. big no no. as for timing, most stangs like timing at 12 or 13 initial on the juice. as long as the fuel and ignition is good there will be no problems.

I would put timing around stock, but thats just my opinion, maybe even retard it a little if you run a bigger shot.

And If you have an aftermarket chip, pull it out, and have one custom burned.

Would running low octane gas like 87 be bad for running with nitrous or not a problem if the timing is adjusted right? i have already put in colder plugs i went with the autolite 24's a little colder then the stock plugs. and have bumped the timming up not sure how much but enough so that i can still run 87 octane. does this sound alright for running with nitrous? thanks again

if you are going to go all winter(sayit was just summer) you could run 87 if you didnt plan on spraying for a while, but when you are going to start spraying again, run 93 in the tank.

if i were to get nitrous, i would want one of those in car timing controllers, so if i wernt spraying, i could bump the timing up, and when i was going to spray, turn it down, at the turn of a button.

A 75 shot is nothing.....providing you take necessary precations.

Timing at 10 degrees
fuel pressure at 42psi
ASFC32C Motorcraft plugs
190lph fuel pump

and with your automatic preventing any missed shifts you should be able to spray like that with no worries.
