The 94/95 Cobra's computer sucked the most. Then the 94/95 GT's. I would swap a 93 Computer in my car in a heart beat.

Ever consider an SN95? You get the same powertrain, but better brakes, handling, and a nice comfortable interior.

I rode in a 2000 V-6 car the other day, and couldnt believe how much smaller the interior was. I think all those rounded panels sucks up interior space compared to the fox bodys

They also have the worst computer of all fox bodies, short of the 93 Cobra
I found out that my 93 lx has the a9l computer in it.

were you moving...cause in my moms grand prix if you put it in neutral and are going at least 5mph the car will rev high...well higher then if you were stopped, it will only go up to 4k that way. But you can take it up to 6k in the yellow...wont go past the yellow..never had...never will. and the governer kicks in at 105mph...just to let you know...btw 87-92 mustangs rule...I like the cobra in 93 but the mustangs lost power in 93 from what I hear. And a 87 mustang is rated at 225 hp...(autotrader), and the 93 cobra is only 235hp...and the cobra cost alot more...I think...

get a 1969 Boss 302...no one will mess with you.
they are roomy in side...and if not one of those get a Mach 1. Most comfortable seats I have ever set in...I think...with a 351...you won't have to get it smoged ever and it looks nice...always get the thumbs up and stuff...and insurance MAY be cheaper....hope this helps.

Now I've heard this from a couple people before and believe it to be true but.. it kinda limits you to the amount of boost you run. I've heard that some folks run 12# of s-trim with no problems though. That seems pretty good but... I'd still get an 89-92(I'm crazy like that)

I've also heard folks say that putting a computer from an aod car into a stick car will make a difference. The aod computer is more aggressive, that's what I was told a long time ago. The 93 Cobra computer is supposed to suck... this is all hear say that I never personally tried myself(disclaimer).

My 89 speedo only goes to 85 but the build date on the door says Nov/88, that could be the difference.

Mach1, how's the kid?

If your car was built in NOV 88, it should be an 89. Mine was built in Oct 92, and its a 93.

Was 89 the first year for the 140 MPH speedo?

The kid is doing great, thanks..

Absolutely, my car is an 89.. no doubt about that but I think they changed to the 140mph speedo mid year.

Its been alittle over a year since you had the kid, from what I remember.. why don't you post a pic??(bragging time bro) I was thinking today that that might be the reason we don't see you 'quite' as much as we did before.

heeh, I don't know if you ever noticed this but I use "I think", "I believe" or "maybe" alot. I use these works referring to things I'm certain about, alot of times, but don't want to get involved in a big arguement . Anyhow, yes they changed the speedo mid year in 89. Some have the 85 some have the 140(I wish mine went to 140 but.. oh well)

Cute kid you have there bro!! That dog looks alot like the mutt I have. Has it only been 5-6 monthes ago?? I thought it was last spring.. oh well. Post more when you can, that's one good looking kid there

Come on man, if you know your right about something, dont be so bashful and politically correct about stating it, just let that knowledge out to the rest of the world. If peoples feeling get hurt, so be it...

Seriously, from the way you were talking, I could not tell that you knew it was a mid year change and thought you were actually asking if it was, because you wondered why your car didnt have the 140 speedo when the 89s were supposed to have them.

I agree with your logic, state facts in the form of a question, to get people thinking, but its hard to tell when written, as the tone of voice can be helpful when using this technique.

Thanks for the compliments on the kid. She is really cool and a lot of fun. Yeah, she was born Dec. 19th, not even six months yet. The dog I could live without. If you know anybody who wants the dog, let me know.

Default 86's are cool too

I like the 86GT just because of the body style and interior. The downside is that they're speed density and have inferior cylinder heads and smaller brakes(and an 85mph speedo). Good luck.
