				 | C6 Tranny I have a 66 coupe, and plan on putting a 289 w/ c6 in it. How good is the c6 tranny, how well will it work with a high rpm 289 with nitrous? How much does it cost to rebuild? Any help will be much appreciated. JAY |

				 | I love mine i went to the C-6 after getting tired of rebuilding C-4's What else do you want to knoe? FYI depite popular opinion (i have seeen this with my own eye) The C-4 and the C-6 both take the same amount of power to drive the C-6 is just about #50 heaver overall. I actually runn quicker with my C-6 than i did my C-4 only changes being my c-4 had an 11" conertor my C-6 has a 10" convertor also losing an inch in convertor size meant that much less fluid i was carrying so i never noticed any real weight change in the car(nothing i couldn't attribute to fuel level related).

				 | The C-6 is also a 3 speed it is the heavy duty counterpart to the C-4 much like a turbo 350 is to a turbo 400 in the chevrolet world.

				 | i know a c-6 can take tons fo punishment. It will have no problems whatsoever hadleing a 289. I have one and it handles my 428 like nothing and i am well into 500 ft ppunds of torque. The biggest thing is just selecting the right torque converter a properly built c-6 will take anything a 289 can dish out. The best thing i ever did for my car was buy a manule valve body. I got a TCI manule valve boby and my 428 just loved it. |
