Question Anyone running a C-4 tranny I need HELP!!!!!!!!

I was putting my tranny in tonight and had about 20min's in it got her in but ran into a little problem. The crossmember and tranny mount. What did you do with the crossmember and tranny mount? If I weld a 3x7in. plate to the top of the tranny mount, that bolts to the transmission, and drill new holes about 11/4in. forward I could bolt the tranny in. I'm thinking of doing this with 1/8in. steel? Has anyone else run into this problem? If you have what did you do? And will this pass with the tech man, or do you think this is a safe solution? Sorry it's so long trying to get to the track this weekend..

Jump over to the FFW site and ask the question in the Racer's Clubhouse. I'd think that some of the Renegade & Outlaw racers ought to be able to answer you question real quick.

What's the trick? I figured it'd be like the AOD, where you just grind the welds on the cross member and slide it back, then reweld it.

Inquiring minds want to know.

Cool Re: Anyone running a C-4 tranny I need HELP!!!!!!!!

hey I have a question since you seemed to have figured out your problem, were converting this 93 coupe 4 cyl to a 351w swap, I'm going to run a c-4 tranny and i have the true dual cross member so the bushing housings are not welded yet, from what I read I guess it will bolt up fine then I weld it, but beyond that, did your driveshaft fit right? and was the slip yoke the right splines?
