I heard this from a mechanic that used to work at a ford dealership and he said he was told by one of the head mechanics there that if you hit the limiter a few time quickly in succession it will be bypassed.

example: floor car and hit the limiter and let off and floor again to hit it. friend said he and someone else tried and about the 5th time he floored it the engine went to 7000 rpm's. that was on a autometer monster tach and they verified that it was hitting the limiter at 6250 rpms.

i'm not saying it will work just something i heard.
