Post Adaptive Lean limit in Fuel Control program?

Prepair yourself for a long one!
Ok, I got this error code #85 stating the following:
"Canister Purge solenoid - circuit failure.
or Transaxle Problem - 3/4 shift circuit failure. or ECA status - adaptive "lean limit reached in fuel control program."

I have to mention I changed my plugs a couple of months ago and noticed they had white marks on the tip. I know this means I'm running lean but wasn't sure if it was because they were platinums or if I was really running lean.
So now I'm pretty sure I am running lean. Any ideas on what is causing this? Has anyone else ever got the same error code before?

I also got a code #33 which has to do with the EGR Valve position. However, I've heard of people actually taking this off?? Do I even need it? Should I get a new one or just remove the one on there? If I don't need it could someone explain how to do the modification.
