![]() It's supposed to. In an engine with a complete PCV system, the air goes into the engine at the oil fill or breather, and comes back out through the PCV valve. The whole point of having the breather as a filter is to filter the air going into the engine, to prevent dirt and such from entering. You don't start to develop air exiting the breather until the engine gets excessive blow-by, or if the PCV is plugged.
