How much headwork is a little? If you put a good cam/carb/intake on there, with a good ignition system and exhaust, and you port the stock heads abit you will go down into the low 12's with traction.

Raise the compression to about 10.5-11:1 and expect some 11's no problem out of that big motor. Providing you have the traction/gearing/stall to do it.
