IMO, I do disagree with that, but every car is different. I ran a 14.3@97.46mph with a 2.222 60' on street tires. This was my first and only time to the track. The only things I had done were timing @ 14*, pullies, mac cai, and Tri-ax shifter. This was also on an engine with 160K+ on the clock and 2.73's. Since then I have put on an electric fan and bumped the timing up to 16*. On a perfect launch, I could probably hit a 14 flat.

Now to the original question......With those mods, I think a chip and fpr would be a waste of money. That money could be spent on gears and a shifter or something like that. Bumping the timing is a free mod which I noticed a big difference in throttle response. But with intake, full exhaust, and drag radials. I'd say 13's would be pretty easy. Add the timing bump, right gears and shifter. I think low 13's would be possible. But like I said at the beginning, every car is different. Anyone else agree?

Matt
