Default camshaft dowel pin??

well i have my motor down to the last 2 thrust bolts, just waiting on my cam to come in.
where is the dowel pin located? is it the black plate thing thats bolted to the sprocket? just want to make sure there is no little parts im overlooking, my first heads/cam swap, but so far so good to my knowledge......thanx.
