Look into getting one of those main cap girdles. It ties all the mains together for a real strong bottom end. Trick Flow makes them along with some other companies. You might have a problem finding them for an FE block though. I know they make them for small blocks, Clevelands and 429/460's. Not sure about the FE's. Also I dont know how you intend to use the engine. But if it's a track only, look into water jacket filler to further stiffen up the bottom end.
