![]() If the engine came out of a manual transmission car, the distributor will be a Duraspark. If it came out of an automatic car, it will be TFI and cannot be used on your application as TFI is ECM controlled.
You will need to find a Duraspark distributor (used, rebuilt or a billet type) and the harness from a donor car/truck. (Anywheres from 1976 to 1984) FORD Racing Parts offers a new harness and module. The module is supplied to them by MSD. If you decide to pull the Duraspark system off a donor car, make sure it is a DuraSpark II system as indentified by a blue strain relief where the harness enters the module body. There was once a website showing how to wire this system into an older chassis, but was taken off.
