I have put about, oh, 60,000 freeway miles on my 1.6L Mercury Tracer daily driver. I bought the car w/ 25,000 on the clock and it has 110,000 miles on it now. The trans will break and the body is rusting but the motor feels just as strong if not stronger than the day I bought it.
Oh yeah, for those 60,000 highway miles, my car turns 3,700 rpm @ 65mph. Long periods at this speed/rpm (like 50+ miles) do cause my car to run warmer but it doesn't overheat.
