![]() I was talking to a guy last night that said he has a short block for sale. He sais it is a 302 block with 289 pushrods and a B cam. He says the people who built it for him, a local place called Costal Performance in League City, TX, told him that the extra length on the pushrods would make it a small displacement stroker, around 317 c.i. He has taken it out of his car because of blowby on the pistons. He is trying to sell it for $150. Does this sound decent or is someone blowing smoke up his arse? Also, how hard would it be to replace the rings, or just buy a stroker kit and go from there?
Something sounds fishy about the longer pushrods making a stroker, but I don't know much about the internal works of an engine. I always thought it was the crank, connecting rods, and pistons.
