![]() They are both similar in that they are both forced induction systems, but the simplest way to explain the difference is that a supercharger gets its power from the engine (through the use of a pulley) while the turbocharger gets its power from the exhaust system. A turbocharger is suppose to be more efficient, but with all of the turbocharged cars I've driven in, the power doesn't really kick in until high rpms whereas a supercharger provides a more all-around power increase.
