![]() That sounds like a somewhat reasonable price on the install to have it done professionally, but the kit seems a high.
I did my swap and ended up only out about $200. but I got a good deal on a used T-5 and sold my fairly fresh AOD for $425 I spent $300 on a new clutch kit/fork/pilot bearing/adjustable cable and quadrant, and about another $300 or so on a used T-5, pedals, bolts, and flywheel with resurface I'd estimate it took me a total of about 9-10 hours for the whole swap, although I did a little bit at a time. If I were you, I'd get some friends to come over for the weekend and tackle the job yourself. I've also got a used T-5 that needs synchros, but is otherwise in good shape, that I can sell you for $275 if you decide to piece it all together instead of buying that overpriced kit.
