I thought about that too, but the thing is, that scoop is just a stick on. Your hood is actually flat, like the v6 version. If you look unser your hood it is heat guarded, to keep your paint from melting or peeling away etc. Even if you cut through your metal hood, you would need to re-apply the heat guard to the top of the scoop, then you have to figure out how to mount the scoop even more secure than it is stock b/c there will be alot of pressure from wind resistance, I would see it being ripped right off. After all that, buy a grill for the scoop. Then you can either leave it open to the engine, will a little bit more cooling. Or you can run an intake through your stock intake. All in all the performance difference would be very slight, especially for the buck and time, and it would only be at higher speeds up toward 60 - 70 mph where there would be, if any, difference. If its somthing that you realy want to do, go for it, but I would save my money and time for other performance product.
