I've seen PT Cruisers with the 426 Hemi I believe it was, and one with a Viper engine.

As for the Civic idea..... that'll be some weird ****. You'll have the ricers seeing double....pistons that is.

I'm gathering pieces to build the Civic,l I found a 78 CVCC (see my "progress" thread for more info). I'm not rushing it as the cash flow is slower that the Civic.
