They have stops internally to prevent over shifting. Info from TTC at FFW Norwalk last year. If you set the stop too tight yes it will not fully engage in that gear.

I think its just a gimmick to add the stops. Hope this helps.

Very Interesting Brad.

Why when I go to shift into 2nd or 4th does it go into 1st gear instead ??? That's what I can't figure out ??

I'll be disassembling it later today. I'll leave the Stops out and see how that goes.

BTW, who is TTC ??
