A plain blue envelope means no new posts in the thread since your last session.
A plain blue envelope with a dot in it means the same, but you've responded to the thread previously. A plain yellow means that there are new posts in the thread. A plain yellow envelope with a dot in it means there are new posts in the thread, and you've also responded previously. If the envelope has little lines shooting out from the top of it then it means the thread is a hot topic (has over 20 responses or a 100 views) An arrow means the thread has been moved to another forum.
